BAND AFLOAT!

The band has played many an interesting and unusual venue, but a warship is something else. Pictured here on HMS Illustrious, the band provided a cracking nights entertainment as part of the annual ball aboard this famous aircraft carrier, based in Portsmouth.

Thanks to multi-talented new front man, Chazzy B, DISCiples band line up from 2008 onwards is as a five piece. This is good news for all. The band still produces a big sound, but can fit into a smaller venue should space be at a premium. And, as the saying goes in music, "Less is more" - no longer do we have two guitarists trying to outdo each other - there's just no need as anyone who has seen the band recently will testify. So now we're 5, BUT for those bigger functions we can add brass, percussion and much much more. Just ask and we'll tap into our extensive network of musically talented friends.

The Band is pleased that deputy lead vocalist Chazzy B will be fronting the band in 2008 with his wicked sense of humour, great vocal range and pretty nifty guitar playing too. Please give him a warm welcome at forthcoming gigs!

What an eventful night at Weybridge during Steve and Ann's Wedding The Bride sings "Geno" on stage to a very appreciative audience - any time Ann!

IS THERE A DRUMMER IN THE HOUSE?

Half way through the first set at Steve & Ann's wedding it turns out the Drummer's car is blocking the car park - but help was at hand to cover one song - well done Sam - always useful to have a drummer in the audience!

SAX IN THE CITY!

The Intercontinental, Park Lane, paid host to an 8 piece line up of the band in January this year. Joining the band for this huge corporate Dinner & Dance were Sax Player, Colin Hartshorn and the multi-talented vocalist, Julia K. What a line up and what a funky sound!

2 BEST MEN!!!

After an excellent double act during the speeches at Emma and Simon's wedding, the band just had to get the two best men up to join the band on air guitar for a bit of Status Quo style headbanging!

BIGGEST AUDIENCE YET?!!

Sponsored by Nick's dayjob employer, Cushman & Wakefield, DISCiples played to an audience of nearly 700 in early August as part of the Young Surveyors Ball, held at the HAC nr Finsbury Square, London. Discussions are already in hand for a similar function in the North of England next year.

NOT 1 BUT 3 CAROLINES!

There's usually one Caroline to join the band for it's rendition of Status Quo's "Caroline". But at the recent Farnham Maltings gig, 3 Carolines appeared on stage, or were they? It turns out one of them was not - she just enjoyed coming up on stage!

ON HIS WEDDING DAY!

Congratulations to Marc and Lucy on their marriage at Buxted in East Sussex and well done to the groom for joining the band and giving us a fabulous rendition of "All shook up" at the party.

AUDIENCE PARTCIPATION!

No, it's not Tony Christie and Peter Kay in drag! It's Angie and Margaret, joining the band for a splendid rendition of "Amarillo" at Angie's 25th wedding Anniversary Party in Pyrford.

ANOTHER GREAT YEAR!

DISCiples ENTERTAIN OFFICERS AND SERGEANTS FOR XMAS!

DISCiples played two military Christmas balls amongst their 9 gigs during December. This was the band's busiest month ever, but as always the audience participation made all the difference and it was great the fancy dress ball at Windsor Barracks had the King, Elvis Presley, join the band for an inpromptu rendition of "Suspicious Minds". Everyone loved it so much that it had to be done twice!

3 DISCiples celebrate Silver Wedding Anniversary.

What a coincidence. Last year, Tony, Nelson and Nick had been married for 25 years. To celebrate, the band held a special party for invited family and friends on 20th September. You're never too old to Rock 'n Roll!

REAL POP STAR MAKES GUEST APPEARANCE!

DISCiples were joined on stage by TRIPLE 8 star, Sparks, for the finale of a recent gig. Sparks, who is Nelson's nephew has already had two Top 20 hits with TRIPLE 8 and transformed the gig with a great rendition of the Bryan Adams song, "Everything I do". Everyone loved it, especially the girls. Any time you're free Sparks!

GROOM JOINS BAND !

Well done to David Powis for joining the band on his wedding day - supported by his buddy Chris! Both keen guitar players and Dire Straits fans, they joined DISCiples for a rendition of "Walk of Life" at the wedding party held in Malvern late August! The guests loved it. Audience participation - it could be you!
